- Can do regular activities

- First signs of a cold
- Exposure to known trigger
- Cough
- Wheeze
- Tight chest
- Coughing at night

2 puffs inhaled
Up to 4 times per day as needed

Wait 20 minutes and see if the treatment(s) helped
If you are GETTING WORSE or are NOT IMPROVING after the treatment(s), go to the Red Zone
If you are BETTER, continue treatments every 4 to 6 hours as needed for 24 to 48 hours
If you still have symptoms after 24 hours OR rescue medication is needed more than 2 times a week contact your doctors office (215-555-2345)
Red Zone
Your asthma is getting worse
- Medicine is not helping
- Breathing is hard and fast
- Nose opens wide
- Can't talk well
- Getting nervous
Medications

4 puffs inhaled
Up to 4 times per day as needed

Wait 15 minutes and see if the treatment(s) helped
If you are GETTING WORSE or are NOT IMPROVING, go to the hospital or call 9-1-1
If you are BETTER, continue treatments every 4 to 6 hours and contact your doctors office (215-555-2345) - say you are having an asthma attack and need to be seen TODAY
School Nurse: Call provider for control concerns or if rescue medication is used more than 2 times/week for asthma symptoms
